How do I find e-media in the library's collection?

You can narrow down your search results in the left menu. The easiest way to find e-media is to select the option *Online" under "Show only".

I would like to access e-media from the HSLU libraries from home or on the road. Is this possible?

Use the VPN of the HSLU to access all e-media of the HSLU libraries from home or on the road.

Can I access e-media of the University of Lucerne?

This depends on the licences of the libraries. It is best to find out directly from the library concerned what options you have.

If you have access data for eduroam (provided by your university) and are in another university library, you can usually access the e-media of this library via the eduroam WLAN network. Please make sure that your VPN is switched off.

I am not a member of the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). Can I still use the electronic resources?

Guests use the research stations in the HSLU libraries.

I cannot open a database, an e-book or an e-journal. What do I have to do?

First of all, please check whether you are on the HSLU network; are you connected to the HSLU W-LAN or have you activated the VPN?

If you are connected to the HSLU network and still do not have access to the e-media, please contact us directly and we will be happy to help you.

Is there also an e-media offer for daily newspapers, magazines, fiction or films?

Yes, the ZHB Luzern offers a wide range of e-media access from daily newspapers, magazines, etc. You will find the different offers under Research/E-Media either specific to the HSLU or more general under ZHB Public.

Which databases can I access via the library?

All databases are listed in the database information system DBIS. You can filter them by subject or search by name. The traffic light symbol shows you whether the database is freely accessible (green) or has been licensed for the HSLU (yellow). You may only have access to the latter if you are in the HSLU network.
